The importance of Proffesional practice




During my final year of my degree I am taking the time once a week with my tutor and fellow students to focus research upon the subject of 'professional practice.'

The term professional practice means I am researching all the factors one must be aware of and must take into consideration when trying to make a living and career within the industry of photography.


I will aim to research factors such as:

Writing a CV; The requirements and expectations of a skills based cv in the photography industry

Where is best to get images printed, in terms of quality, reliability and affordability.

Where to purchases portfolios, print boxes, print sleeves, business cards ect, again, taking into consideration all factors such as quality, reliability and affordability.

I will use the time during professional practice to decide factors about my work such as what style or size portfolio is going to best suit me and how i want to brand myself through these things, such as my website, my prints and my business cards.

Promoting myself: using digital platforms, what digital platforms to use, dos and don'ts with these digital platforms
