Studio

Importance of studio work

Upon leaving university I will be looking for a job or experience in any area of the industry I can. I work as a documentary photographer in my own practice however I have worked within a studio setting numerous times. As part of searching for a job within the industry I am going to keep a visual record of my studio work as something which I can show when needed If i were to go for any job involving working with the studio. This visual record will carry on being added to as I create more work.

I've worked with shooting model and products in the studio before so I am experienced to a certain extent in photographing various subjects matter within this setting. I understand that studio work is and commercial photography are something which a photographer benefits so much in by having experience in these fields as well as their own.

My most successful studio work was when I styled and photographed images of food within the studio. To produce this shoot I bought the items myself, styled the shot and experimented with the use of natural and artificial light within the studio.

The camera I used for these shots was a PhaseOne camera. The fact I am experienced to a certain extent with using a camera such as a PhaseOne camera should be something which would be of use to any employer connected to the job role of someone working in the studio.

These images are selected as some of my most successful from my many other studio images i could show. Upon graduating from University in May 2016 I have intact got a job awaiting which will involve capturing product shots of Protein and sports supplements. These images again will be something I can use to build up my visual record of studio work.
