Final Professional CV

Professional CV

In an earlier post I posted my professional CV which is something I always keep on my laptop ready to just be updated accordingly when I gain any more work experience or when I need to use it for a job interview. I made some slight tweaks and updates to make sure it is ready for use as part of my professional practice hand in.

When creating this CV I wanted to make sure I had a section where I could speak about my work and experience in relation to the photographic industry then a section where I could mention any other jobs or experience outside of that.

Obviously this CV has been created so that it can be ready to be used for most jobs within the photographic industry as that is what I will be aiming for when I finish my degree.

Depending upon any particular job I may go for, I may alter the CV slightly just to make it more appropriate for that particular job.

As a genral version of a CV, listing all my achievements or experience related to the industry I have listed several photographic skills I have such as being able to work in a studio environment and being able and experienced in working with several camera formats.

On sections such as my key skills and experience, rather than just listing these qualities I have chosen to expand on them slightly give more of an in depth explanation.

As can be seen here on the second page, I have broken down the experience section into photography related experience then my own personal work experience of any part time jobs I've had. Again, here I have gone into more depth explaining my experience as to a potential employer, writing that I have worked as a sale consultant for Clinique may come across as irrelevant or not very important, especially if they do not know much about the job role. Once expanded slightly however, I am able to explain what qualities I can in that job that will be beneficial for any future job I may get.

I chose to place my date of birth at the end of my CV. I feel adding my date of birth was a personal option. I have happy to add my date of birth as although a career shouldn't really judge me on age, adding my date of birth will just give an added idea of myself as a person for any future employer. I chose to add the date of birth at the end however as I want anyone who reads the CV to read through all the important aspects of my experience and abilities before being able to then judge me on my age. I feel the harsh reality is that some employers may indeed chuck a CV away before even reading it if they were to see a young persons age at the top of the document as they may unfairly surmise that individual will not have much experience or the qualities they may be looking for due to their age.
